IIFA needs no brand ambassador: Anil Kapoor

Amitabh Bachchan and IIFA have parted ways after 10 years but actor Anil Kapoor does not believe that the event needs a brand ambassador.

Bachchan promoted the event as its face for a long time but when he decided not to attend the event in Sri Lanka amid protest by industry in South, IIFA decided to do away with the post after that.

Anil Kapoor believes that Bachchan will be missed during the ceremony in Toronto this year but believes that big awards can do without a brand ambassador.

"I don't think that IIFA needs a brand ambassador.

It's a huge platform in itself to educate and entertain people. Have you ever heard about any brand ambassador for Oscar, Cannes or BAFTA.

I feel everybody who is connected to our film industry, is its brand ambassador," Kapoor said.

Bachchan has already tweeted that he's not going to IIFA this year.
