Bachchan records a medley of
his film songs in his own voice, and dances to it in a sequence choreographed by
Remo d'Souza

Want to know what the bunch of foreign
dancers, recently hackled by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists, are doing in
Mumbai? They are shooting a lavish item number of course, but they're doing so
with none other than Big B.

Amitabh Bachchan at an earlier
performance

Amitabh Bachchan has sung and recorded a
medley of his evergreen classics including Pag ghungroo (Namak Halaal), Khai ke
paan Banaraswala (Don), Apni toh jaise taise (Lawaaris) and Jahan yeh teri nazar
hai (Kaalia).

The dance has been choreographed by Remo D'Souza and will
have Bachchan incorporate original steps from the films. Said a source,
"Director Puri Jagannath and Remo sat down with Amitabh to decide the look,
make-up, and steps that are an amalgamation of the original Big B
classics."

While Bachchan and Puri remained tight-lipped about the item
song, d'Souza was more forthcoming. "Yes, we're bringing together some classic
songs of Mr Bachchan and we have got him to sing them. I've kept the original
steps in mind. At the same time, I've given it a new spin."

Re: [bigb] "I wish Hrithik all the luck for Agneepath remake" - Abhishek Bachchan

Amit

It is not question of average actor or excellent actor. I would not have liked even Amir Khan or Abhishek Bachchan or Tom Cruise to do this VIJAY DINANATH CHOUHAN ROLE. actually, I dont like to see any successful movies of AB being remade. Yes, if someone wants to remake Insaniyat or Boom or Jaadugar and take up the challenge of making the movie superhit, then he/she is welcome. Why touch the superhit movies of AB? Such hype is created that the remake movie gets a terrific opening.

Dear Shiladitya,

Have not see this but I am sure that what Abhishek really means this is the 1st step for a FUNERAL PARTY for Hirthik's career !!!

Hirthik at the most is an AVERAGE actor and the only reason he has survived is because his father has made some BIG BUDGET INTERESTING films.  But Vijay's character is ICONIC and no AVERAGE actor can tempt it or if they do, they are asking for trouble.

Well, I saw it Sunday noon in Inox, and the hall was 60% full - pretty good I'd say.

So far, what I am most impressed with is the word-of-mouth! And also most of the reviews... All have been positives!

As for the movie, well, it has its weak points, but that would be like not-picking.... It cerainly is very well made movie with an amazing pace! I liked the first half more, and Sippy has done a wonderful job at character build-up, also story build-up.

Abhishek's dialogues are amazing, and he has done full justice to each & every line uttered by him. His screen presence is towering - as befits the son of AB! Like AB, Abhi also suits in a cop's role, and how!

Some of the dialogues / scenes I really liked are:
1) The gun in the ass scene! - Wonderfully picturized with zero vulgarity!
2) The 'khaike paan....' sequence. Very well incorporated!
3) The airport scene - Abhi was in his elements here!
4) Micheal Barbossa "on the rocks" and "google" dialogues were innovative!

The title song was a big let down... despite it being such a hit & pacy song! They should have picturized it better & utilized it for repeat viewings.... I think they bungled up big time with this one...

Spoiler Alert!
IMO, even thought the climax was different from the run-of-the-mill things, I think the suspense part of it could have been avoided! Because what happens with such surprise suspense elements is that once the cat is out of the bag, those who watch the movie a few days later, they lose all interest after knowing the suspense...

Abhi himself had recruited his team and as such the entire team could have been honest - i.e. without any mole! Come to think of it - what if Rana was also honest? Would it have taken any thrill out of the movie till the climax? Every scene would have been as exciting as they were otherwise. And to make the climax different, they could have shown a mole in Barbossa's den - Abhi's mole! Now, that would make a smart cop, no?!

Like in Sarkar Raj, Abhi's death came as a shock! But it also was a dampener... You start identifying with him and then you suddenly lose him.. this is injustice. Our hero should overcome all odds and survive and come out winner!

Guys,

Saw DMD yesterday and just LOVED the movie!!!!!

Its a freakin past-paced thriller, and Abhi rocks it!
And he always rocks it as a cop!

Will try to give a detailed take on the movie later, but its definitely worth a second view!

The word of mouth here is awesome - everybody I've come across has a positinve word about the movie...!

Reply: Reply: [bigb] Sad news..

Dear Amit,
Thank you for relaying my message to Fatima...
Yes, of course, I completely understand the heartache she is feeling.  I've lived long enough to understand this all too well.
It's just so hard to come to terms with what's happened
when we lose someone who's been such an important
part of our lives like Fatima's Dear Aunt.
I will continue to pray for her to find peace among the lovely
memories she has...nothing can take those away.
God bless you, Dear Amit, for getting back in touch with me.
Love from your EF forever,
Valorie

Hi Valorie,

Thanks for the note.  Fatima appreciates our prayers and she informed that she is not ready to talk yet and I know how she feels because I also had lost my mother a few years ago and you just don't want to interact with anybody.  I am sure she appreciates our prayers and that is what we can do for now.
