It's not a good idea...aladin tried it...I hope AB stays firm on this...why can't writers come up with innovative and punch-driven dialogues for AB instead of farming out old ones...get Kader Khan on this project ASAP!

Too old to be cheeky

Amitabh Bachchan has refused to mouth his own dialogues and portray a diehard fan of himself in Bbuddah

Creative differences are pretty common in the film industry, especially between that of a lead actor and the director of a film.

Telugu director Puri Jagannath's ambitious project, Bbuddah with Amitabh Bachchan, too had its share of upheavals.

Bachchan's role of a 60-year-old who behaves like he is 22 has gone through various discussions, changes and doubts.

Apparently, now, Puri wants Big B's character in Bbuddah to be a diehard Amitabh Bachchan fan saying the mega-star's most iconic lines at the drop of a hat.

Says a source, "Initially when Puri put forward the idea, Mr Bachchan was amused. But as the shooting began Mr Bachchan found the whole idea of mouthing his own lines most vain and self-glorifying. So, Big B put his foot down about this form of self-projection and said 'no' to it."

The star has also objected to a lot of the 'young' (read: uncouth) lines that his character has to say. In fact during the first schedule he asked Puri to change the lines.

While Puri Jagannath remained unavailable for comment, a friend of the director said, "The whole idea of doing this character who refuses to act his age was to project Amitji in a light that the audience had never seen before.

If we take away those colourful lines, the character loses its uniqueness."

Testifying Big B's approach towards the episode a source close to the star says, "He has never said or done anything that he isn't fully convinced about. Why would he now?"
