No failure can put this actress down, she has spent nine years in the Telugu film industry being optimistic, had never taken a film for granted and started dubbing for all her films very early in her career showing people that she means business and she's here to stay. Speaking from Mumbai on the sets of Puri Jagan's Bbuddah..hoga tera baap, the gorgeous Charmy says she is on a new high, the excitement of working in her first ever Hindi film that too with Amitabh Bachchan is incomprehensible and alerts one and all, "Watch me, I'm going to rock!"
The actress is turning 23 on May 17th and she opines this is the right time to get started in Hindi movies. She's glad she didn't go there when she was a teen, she had learnt from all her mistakes from each film and is determined not to repeat it again; the experience, the lessons in Telugu movies had helped her emerge as a confident person and is thankful to the audiences for accepting her with all the flaws. That sounds like a farewell note, has she resolved to quit Telugu films? No she screams and compares the Telugu industry to her mother and the Hindi to her father.
She was never jobless though some of her important films sank at the marquee and was always blessed with work in some film, dubbing or a low budget movie that kept her occupied. She however stresses will work only with heroes here onwards.
Looking back how did she handle the low phase in her career? Charmy speaks the language of cricket and says when things are not in your favour one has to stay there on the pitch and keep playing hoping to hit a six at some point; if one gets impatient and hits every ball you may lose a wicket. She explains better than sitting at home doing nothing, being forgotten she thought it sensible to do some film or the other and she's glad she was in the limelight till the last film Dongala Mutha.
Dongal Mutha had no story and the Cannon 5D went berserk focusing on her derriere. Charmy's funny bone comes alive and sans any regret, she remarks, "What was missed on screen all these years, you've seen it in Dongala Mutha."
Puri Jagan got most of his staff and crew to Mumbai and they all speak Telugu, the actress feels with that kind of atmosphere around it feels like working in a Telugu film that has Amitabh as the hero. While Charmy was interacting with them in Telugu Big B approached her and said, "Yahan pe regionalism nahin chalega" and she giggles. She says she was never nervous, no cold feet on the first day of her shot with the icon. It was a lengthy dialogue and Big B shook hands with her and remarked, "Good job, it's our first shot together."
With a childlike excitement the pretty lady adds that it's high time she got on to twitter as she heard from friends that Bachchan had tweeted on her and addressed her as the charming Charmy. Her friends kept ragging her, "Oh, so you've charmed Bachchan Sir also!"
