After the super-hit Raajneeti, Prakash Jha is gearing up for the release of his next biggie Aarakshan which releases on August 12. The film, which talks about the reservation issue, boasts of an impressive star-cast such as Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Manoj Bajpayee and Prateik.
We bring you some exclusive behind the scenes stills from the film and even have Mr.Jha speak about the shooting experience for the film in Bhopal. So over to you Mr.Jha
"This is the climax shot of the film" "This is a scene in which Saif has just been appointed the Junior Lecturer in the college while Manoj is a Senior Professor there. Their first meeting is quite an eventful one."
"In this particular shot you can see, Mr. Bachchan teaching some school girls, Burlesque principle."
"The entire film has been shot in Bhopal. We shot at Shakuntala Thakral College in Bhopal in which we put up several different sets. This is inside the Principal's office and as is obvious Mr. Bachchan plays the Principal."
"Saif and Deepika are close friends in the film and Prateik also is seen hanging out with them. This is a scene shot in the canteen of the college."
"We were shooting a rain sequence and you can see Mr. Bachchan patiently waiting for his shot wrapped in a towel He always needs a higher seating because of his long legs hence you can see him sitting on many chairs kept one on top of the other."
"The entire film has been shot in Bhopal. It was a 55 day schedule but we finished 3 days before time. The last day was quite emotional for all of us since we were one big family staying together, working together for so many days. I've always taken pride in my production unit. Every film I've shot, we've never gone beyond schedule by a single day and hence never gone beyond budget by a single rupee."
"Working with Mr.Bachchan has been a phenomenal experience. Even at this age and after doing so many films, he is so charged about his work. If I told him to come on sets at 11 am he would be ready on the sets by 10:30 am, such is the greatness of the man.
Working with Saif and Deepika too has been superb. They were so hard-working and always up to it. Prateik too is a very sincere and hard-working lad and has a bright future."
