Yes Viral, I think more than the publicity, what is required is a critical assessment of the movie. Because, ultimately what will stand the test of time is a good product... But once the product is out, nothing can be undone.... So whatever 'tweaking' has to be done, it better be done now!
All these directors in recent years have been too awed by AB to have put him to do things that audience would like today. They have just lived their fantasies and given us a soup of old AB movies, nothing else. Recent case in point is the much hyped Aladin. Otherwise, they have just made him a patriarch.
We want audience to have an expectation (so that they go to watch the movie), and then their expectations fulfilled (so that they come out & spread the word).
A pre-preview of the movie is the most desirable thing. A group of about 20-odd fans should be shown and their opinions taken to 'tweak' the movie - some scenes deleted, some added, some improvised on the edit.... the works.
One of AB's movies that could have worked wonders was Ek Ajnabi. To this date I believe that all that was required in this movie was a little post-production tweaking...

Hey Fatima,AB's blog sounds promising. Marketing campaign, promotions and all are terrific. But can you also get in on the pre-screening for some of us amongst us who can provide critical input valuable for the product to be acceptable as seen by the masses/classes. Even if it is not us, can he form a team who can do this as a neutral viewer and run the necessary edits before the final version is cut?Viral
