Absolutely right, Viral....case in point DMD...there is all this confusion on whether the film is below avg, avg, safe zone, hit...no universal opinion. Frankly speaking, a movie like DMD should be piling numbers that are off the charts...

The opening of Bbuddah is crucial...the promos have to get people excited and line up to watch the film...this is the best opportunity that we've had in a long time for a vintage Bachchan role to create magic!

if the distributors make money, we won't have to fight battles with pundits, media and other journos to prove that BBuddah is a hit. I don't see such battles when a 3 idiots or Ghajini opens and breaks records. Its universally accepted. When producers have to come out and prove a movies' success it translates to an average box office success at best.

Good point, Rajib! But I want the headlines to read "Bbuddah opens to packed audiences all over India. Box office breaking records. Amitabh dominates Aamir at the box office"...I don't want to read Bbuddah no match for Aamir"...or even "Though Bbuddah has opened weak when compared to Delhi Belly, the money recovered from satellite rights should make it reach the safe zone"... No way! Perception is reality! BBuddah needs to break records!!

Will be a tough clash! Aamir is a marketing genius! ABCL needs to step up the hype and show the world who BOSS is! I think the city multiplex crowd may choose Delhi belly .. But the single screens and family audiences will go for Bbuddah! Go Bbuddah go!

In a clash of titans, Amitabh Bachchan's home production Bbuddah-Hoga Terra Baap and Aamir Khan's Delhi Belly will hit the screens on July 1. The megastar is quite excited about it.

'Two films after a long gap and two very different roles and films. The first a dramatic, fun, film. The latter more intense, topical, and edgy, very sincere and touching, on a topic and subject which many talk of behind closed doors but never outside,' he wrote.

The veteran star says he is glad he is able to maintain variety at his age.

'As an actor I feel elated that there is diversity on offer. When you are nearing 70 it does become scarce ... the offers. But the challenge that comes by in the offering is immense. There is an opportunity of getting characters to play that may have been not too easy to play when you were younger. Or even if there was an opportunity, the commerce did not allow it.'
